Ready & United for His Appearing - Tim and Sharon
Ready & United for His Appearing
Pastors Tim & Sharon Spirk
One of God’s deepest desires for His people is that we would walk together—generation to generation—united, strengthened, and ready for His movement in the earth. Scripture paints a picture of a multi-generational family partnering together for the purposes of God, each generation making room for the other to run their race.
Isaiah 54:2–3 declares, “Increase is coming… enlarge your tent… make the tent ropes longer and the pegs stronger… your sons and daughters will conquer nations and revitalize desolate cities.” God’s heart is for expansion—of faith, of family, and of Kingdom influence. And He highlights that the next generation will carry His purposes into places of brokenness and restore what has been lost.
A Multi-Generational Move of God
Maturity and youth are not meant to compete—they are meant to collaborate. Cindy Jacobs once prophesied over CCC, “The young and the old are going to dance together.” In Scripture, we see this beautifully reflected in the lives of Zechariah, Elizabeth, Simeon, Anna, and Mary. Each contributed uniquely to preparing the way for Jesus.
Zechariah & Elizabeth: Faithful in the Waiting
Though they were older in years, Zechariah and Elizabeth had not aged out of their calling. Zechariah, a priest performing his once-in-a-lifetime temple duty, encountered an angelic message that he struggled to believe. Mary, by contrast, immediately said “yes,” but both stories mattered deeply to God.
Elizabeth, whose name means “oath of God,” carried a lifelong devotion to the Lord. She understood priesthood, worship, and intercession—and God entrusted her with birthing John the Baptist, a forerunner filled with the Holy Spirit even in the womb.
Their story reminds us:
You are never too old for God to move through you.
The generations need one another to fulfill the purposes of God.
When God speaks, grace is released to accomplish what He has promised.
The Generational Ripple: The Mary & Elizabeth Effect
When Mary visited Elizabeth, Scripture says the baby in Elizabeth’s womb leapt—and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:41–42). One generation awakened another. The younger carried a prophetic promise; the older recognized it, affirmed it, and was ignited again.
This is what happens when generations honor one another:
Purpose awakens
Anointing increases
Unity prepares the way for the Lord
John, whose name means “God is gracious,” came as a gift to unite hearts—fathers to children, children to wisdom—and to prepare a united people for the Lord’s appearing.
Simeon & Anna: Ready Hearts That Recognized Jesus
Simeon and Anna represent those who refuse to grow spiritually dull. They lived with expectancy, fasting, praying, and watching for the Messiah.
Simeon was a scholar, deeply tuned to the Spirit’s voice. God promised he would see the Christ with his own eyes—and because he lived under the Spirit’s influence, he was at the temple at the exact moment Jesus arrived.
Anna had suffered loss, yet chose a life of worship. She fasted, prayed, and stayed close to God’s presence. Because she remained faithful, she recognized Jesus immediately and declared the good news to others.
Their lives teach us to:
Stay spiritually awake
Keep our hearts tender
Remain close to God’s presence
Recognize what God is doing, even when others miss it
Entering a Season of Rest, Family, and Revival
Prophetic words—such as Bob Jones’ “100-Year Prophecy”—affirm that God is preparing His Church through seasons of rest, family restoration, intercession, and unity. Hearts of fathers are returning to children, and families (both natural and spiritual) are being strengthened for what is ahead.
Preparing for His Appearing
How do we ready ourselves for a greater move of God?
Stay attuned to His voice
Live with anticipation
Shift our priorities toward eternal things
Make room for the younger and honor the older
Let God bring our hearts together as one family
People of God—get ready. Jesus is moving, perhaps not in the ways we expected, but in unprecedented measure. As we unite across generations, cultivate expectancy, and stay aligned with His Spirit, we become the kind of people who are ready for His appearing.
