Heaven Filling Earth - Pastor Mark

Heaven Filling Earth
Pastor Mark Krieg

At Christ Community Church, our vision and focus for this season is clear: Heaven Filling Earth. This phrase captures God’s heart to see His Kingdom take root again in the world through His people. Jesus taught us to pray, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). That prayer is not poetic language alone. It is a mission, and God intends to accomplish it through His children.

Scripture reveals that there was once war in the heavens. Passages like Revelation 12, Isaiah 14, and Ezekiel 28 describe a rebellion in which one-third of the angels broke covenant with God. Though fallen, these beings retained their gifts and now oppose God and His purposes on the earth.

In Genesis 1–2, God created the earth and entrusted it to humanity. Adam and Eve were given dominion and authority to steward creation. The fall in Genesis 3 disrupted that authority, but it did not nullify God’s plan. Even in humanity’s failure, God spoke a promise: the Seed of the woman would come and crush the serpent’s head (Genesis 3:15).

Jesus is that promised Seed. He fulfilled hundreds of Old Testament prophecies and came not only to redeem humanity but to restore authority back to mankind. Scripture calls Him the “last Adam.” He lived as a sinless human being, fully dependent on the Father and empowered by the Holy Spirit, modeling what humanity was always meant to be.

Jesus chose to function on earth as a man, not drawing on His divine privileges, so that He could show us how to live in intimacy with the Father and power through the Spirit.

Jesus didn’t simply announce the Kingdom. He trained people to bring it. He taught His disciples to pray, to hear God clearly, to heal the sick, to cast out demons, and to call people to repentance without condemnation. Wherever Jesus went, heaven touched earth: sickness left, freedom came, and hope was restored.

From the beginning of His ministry, Jesus proclaimed, “The Kingdom of God has come near” (Mark 1:15). After His resurrection, He commissioned His followers to carry that same message to the nations.

This mission continues in the book of Acts and remains unchanged today.

Making disciples is not reserved for pastors or church leaders. It is the calling of every believer. Jesus said, “Go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19–20). The Kingdom advances when disciples make disciples, who then make more disciples, until Christ returns and God’s Kingdom is fully restored on the earth.

Jesus taught His followers to live differently:

  • Love one another

  • Serve others

  • Share the gospel

  • Pray boldly

  • Forgive freely

  • Walk by faith

  • Heal the sick

  • Drive out darkness

  • Follow Him wholeheartedly

These are not optional extras. They are the lifestyle of those who carry heaven into the world.

Too often, believers think too little of themselves. Scripture tells us we are children of the Most High God. We are royalty, ambassadors, and co-laborers with the Holy Spirit. There is no backup plan. We are God’s plan to bring His Kingdom to the earth.

Heaven filling earth looks like transformed homes, workplaces, schools, and cities. It looks like believers who pray with authority, love boldly, heal compassionately, and proclaim the good news fearlessly.

We are co-missioned with the Holy Spirit to bring God’s Kingdom wherever we go. Through our words, actions, prayers, and obedience, heaven touches earth.

This is our calling. This is our moment. And this is the direction we are headed together.
